This is a complete and working antique one day cuckoo clock that is in good overall condition, making it a fairly rare and very desirable clock to own. It was manufactured by the American Cuckoo Clock Co. Philadelphia, PA sometime prior to WWl. Some of the original label still remains. This clock is mostly all original so you may find finish wear and possibly some minor roughness around the edges, but overall, for being nearly a hundred and twenty years old, its antique, rustic appearance is quite nice. It appears to have been recoated with a darker finish many years ago. The original cast brass lyre style movement has been cleaned and adjusted, and is in good running order, keeping time and cuckooing properly. This is the older, larger style movement that was eventually replaced by smaller movments to save brass and steel as WWl approached. The old bellows have been refitted with new tops at one time not too long ago, so should last many years. It still has the original hand carved cuckoo bird with moving wings and tongue, and the origianl weights. The pendulum appears to be a replacement. The overall measurements are approximately 17 ½” high (not including the large weights and pendulum) x 13 1/2″ wide across the top piece. If you’ve been looking for a complete and working older collectible cuckoo clock, this would definitely be a nice one to consider. From an investment standpoint, these great old clocks have been rising steadily in value for many years and recently, the number of worldwide cuckoo clock collectors has been increasing dramatically. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final (with the exception noted below). It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. If a clock is running properly when it arrives, that is about the best we can do.
